Discover Your Inner Wisdom

About Me

I’m Agnes Summerlake — Focusing professional, Taoist tantra teacher, and writer. I’ve trained with, among others, René Veugelers, Aaffien de Vries, Saïda Désilets, and Yehudit First. Since the age of twenty-five, I’ve been developing and leading trainings in the field of personal development. I also run a private practice for individual guidance, and I devote part of my time to writing a memoir.

My hobbies

I love walking in nature with our long-haired dachshund. I enjoy giving massages, meditating, mantra singing, and dancing the 5Rhythms. Every day, I write a piece in my journal or work on my memoir. My creativity is socially oriented — I develop new trainings and coaching approaches for the people I care deeply about.

I feel little bubbles of happiness rising from my stomach and heart at the thought of guiding new people in listening to their bodies. You’re very welcome.

Experience

I began about twenty-five years ago as a NEI therapist (Neuro Emotional Integration). This was followed by training in Holistic Pulsing and Focusing. Focusing has always remained a common thread throughout my work. Whether I was teaching dance, inspired by the 5Rhythms, or offering a year-long women’s training centered on sensuality and Taoist tantra, it was always combined with listening to the deeper messages of the body.

I have never stopped learning or developing new offerings. Socially-Oriented Focusing 1 and 2 are the most recent trainings I’ve completed. This approach brings Focusing into relationship with another person, allowing relationships to develop a grounded and nourishing quality.

Praise

I love practicing Summer Focusing. It’s such a fun playground to be with another who is also focused within themselves, and to share from that space of being! So fulfilling, bonding and transformative.

To stay connected within my body is everything. I experienced suffering for most of my life because of over-eating and so I hated to feel my body. It was too uncomfortable. And so now, for the last few years, staying connected to what I’m feeling within my body in all of life situations is my constant meditation. And it’s truly all about creating a safe and beautiful home for myself within myself.

I enjoy the Focusing meditations before writing. They help me to listen to my body and start writing from there. I love writing in the group. This is so important for me because I find that I typically don’t yet have the focus to do it on my own.

I feel much at ease within the group and I feel like the writing and the sharing, is supporting me powerfully to develop and have the courage to be my authentic self, of which is of utmost importance for me.
